Being a community partner.
At its core, that is the purpose of Community & Local Government Relations at UCLA.
Our mission is to offer UCLA’s expertise and resources to the local community and to invite the community to participate in UCLA life by establishing and maintaining positive relationships with residents, community leaders, local businesses and elected officials.
Community & Local Government Relations staff:
Develop and maintain relationships with local elected officials, their staff and municipal departments:
Mayor’s office of the City of Los Angeles
,
Los Angeles City Council
,
County Board of Supervisors
and other municipalities in the greater Los Angeles area, such as:
Culver City
,
Santa Monica
, and
Inglewood
Invite elected officials to campus as speakers and guests at special events
Help local municipalities recruit UCLA students as legislative interns
Host educational forums on crucial community issues
Serve on the boards of community organizations and business associations
Provide information about UCLA to neighborhood leaders and local elected officials
Act as a liaison to the community, informing neighbors of campus capital projects
Provide UCLA resources for meetings and special programs
