On May 30th Sean Walsh, UCLA alum and Senior Advisor to Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger visited campus for a day of meetings with campus leadership and a lunch with students at the UCLA Career Center.
Walsh is a former Director of the Governor’s Office of Planning and Research (OPR). He is a product of UCLA’s Career Center and strongly believes that his success today is a result of the opportunities he was provided through UCLA specifically, his Career Center internship placement in Washington D.C.
His visit began by meeting with Acting Chancellor Norman Abrams and Vice Chancellor for Finance, Budget, and Capital Programs, Steven Olsen. Later Walsh toured UCLA's new California NanoSystems Institute (CNSI) building and addressed Career Center students during lunch. He engaged the students and provided valuable insight and advice to them on career path opportunities.
This visit provided UCLA with a unique opportunity to highlight the University's budget priorities including funding for CNSI as the 2007-08 state budget negotiations reach their final stages.
